Silver Shell Butter Dish with Four Silver Butter Knives

Silver Shell Butter Dish with Four Silver Butter K

  • An Edwardian silver shell butter dish, on three ball feet, made by William Hutton and Sons, hallmarked for London 1908. Also included are four silver butter knives, made by Arthur Price, hallmarked for Birmingham 1935. The butter dish weighs 36 grams, it is 3.5" long and 3" width, there is a slight crease on the grip and one of the scallop ends is slightly folded, but as can be seen not an obvious defect. The knives are 4.25" long and are in a very good condition, they weigh 42 grams. This is a very usable dining piece, which could be used for its original purpose and look very smart on a dining table.
