Rare Irish Pair of 18thc Tea Tongs, Thomas Green J

  • A rare and stunning pair in a very elaborate style, with angular trilobe grips. Made by Thomas Green junior Dublin circa 1755. They are in an very good condition, a repair has been carried out on the bottom leg ( photograph) As with Irish tea tongs, they are engraved and have a floral motive on the hinge plate, the marks on the round finger rings are clear with Hibernia on one, and the makers mark and crowned Irish harp on the other. They are 5.25" long and weigh in the region of 57 grams.
