A Stunning Welsh Moon Roller Long Case Clock by Phillip Trick of Cardiff

A Welsh Moon Roller Long Case Clock(C0M/372)

  • This is a Stunning Welsh Moon Roller Longcase Clock by Phillip Trick, a rare but recorded maker who made clocks from around "1785" This clock dates from around "1840", making it over 170 years old! This is an 8 Day clock which chimes the hours on a single bell, this is a standard format for Longcase or “Grandfather” clocks made up to the late Victorian era, it also features a "second" hand and a working “Moon Roller” or “Moonphase” The case is constructed from beautifully grained mahogany with fine carvings and oval, round and oblong mouldings, there is a repair to the case on the left hand rear (please see photo number 7), but this does not distract from the sheer architectural beauty of this clock. The dial is of the “Break Arch” type and is in excellent order. The solid brass movement is of standard plated construction and is original to the face, and the hands are also original. Clock Measurements; Height: 228cm (7ft 6") Width: 56cm (22") Depth: 25cm (10")
