18th Century Cast Sugar Tongs (PS/220)

  • An most unusual design, that are free from any repair, which is extremely rare They do have a very small flaw in one of the arms. This pair were possibly made by Richard Meach, a small worker which "Grimwades" shows with a pellet between the "R & M". He registered another mark without a pellet in March "1774", this would tie in nicely with the date of these tongs. They have an engraving on the bow of "J.A. & R. Fogwill" They measure 13 mm long, 40 mm wide and a height of 15 mm.
